Automobiles in German City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then found multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the incident left him speechless and required to be solved promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
